Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people."

Stephen said the same thing in Acts 7:37. This fits in with Hebrews 1:1-2 saying about the same thing.

Old Testament Prophets were spoken to by God as he had something to say to the congregation (Israel).

New Testament prophets were appointed by God and under the direction of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. (12:28) and (Eph 3:5). The prophet does differ from a teacher as the teacher teaches what has been handed down from God through the Holy Spirit.

The question is: are there New Testament prophets running around today? Did the office of prophet pass away as the church cooled down during the period of the early church until now, and only the idea of the prophet resurrected today, by men that want to be recognized and fulfill that position without a call?
I agree that I haven't seen or heard of such a prophet in my lifetime that I would be willing to follow. There is so much bad stuff coming out of today's prophet that it is hard to tell.

I believe God's word and He says there are prophets and that there are New Testament prophets the only question is, did they cease in the early church.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126617840879025486.post-73589318480940625042008-06-16T23:23:00.000-07:002008-06-16T23:23:00.000-07:00Thank you for writing to share your thoughts on th...Thank you for writing to share your thoughts on the California Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage. I appreciate hearing from fellow Californians about the issues that are important to them.

In 2000, voters approved Proposition 22 - also known as the California Defense of Marriage Act - which stated that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California. The California Constitution says that initiatives cannot be amended without another vote of the people, and so I vetoed all recent legislative efforts to amend the marriage laws without another vote of the people or a court decision. But I have always said that I would abide by the rulings of the state's highest court. On May 15, 2008, the California Supreme Court held that Proposition 22 is unconstitutional. I respect the Court's decision, and as I promised before, I will uphold its ruling.

Again, thank you for taking time to write and share your comments.

Sincerely,

Arnold SchwarzeneggerTHE GIDEON FACTORhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09046552220439297657noreply@blogger.com
